Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Aspect Climbing Harness:
This seems to be a nice mid-price range harness, not really sure as I sold it to my son because it was way too small (he loves it, but I think he'll find it a bit small also come winter, gear loops too far back, he doesn't lead ice so it shouldn't be a huge issue for him).
I'm giving up on Black Diamond's sizing. If you can't try it on before buying, DON'T! The chart says medium fits 30-33" I have a 31" waist and this was WAY small, even with thin clothes. If I was to wear if for ice (heavy layers) I wouldn't even be able to get it around me. I have a BD Focus (for rock) in size large that I need to tighten as far as it will go to work ok (still slips some when carrying a heavy rack). So I bought a BD Ice in medium, works ok but too small (the gear loops are too far back). Then I bought a Xenos in large and it's back to sliding down when loaded with screws.
Extremely frustrating as there is not a gear shop in this city that carries ice specific harnesses so I end up buying online. But after so many strike outs with BD, I finally learned my lesson and bought a Petzl! Why can't BD have any kind of consistency with their sizing? It shouldn't be that difficult!!
