Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trail Back Trekking Poles:

I used these poles for a completed Southbound thru hike of the Appalachian Trail and also the Vermonts Long Trail. I use them on weekend hikes now. The poles are very sturdy and I love the locks which do not slip (if they ever did just tighten one little screw to fix that). The tips held out great on all types of terrain especially mountain rock faces heading up mountains. Ive only replaced my tips. After five years of heavy use the aluminum had started to corrode a little near the bottom pole section. I cleaned it and still use them every few weekends for dayhikes. These poles are not ultra-light but they are light. I didnt give the weight a second thought ever. They are light, sturdy and excellent for an affordable average costing pole.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trail Back Trekking Poles:

I had never used trekking pole until a friend talked me into getting some. I purchased these poles for a weekend backpacking trip and I am soo glad that I did. They are very easy to adjust and provided me with great support. I will never backpack again without them. Worth every penny!!

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trail Back Trekking Poles:

I really liked these poles, but with small hands the grip became uncomfortable after a while. So I am bringing these back and have ordered a women's specific pole. Folks with large-ish hands should do fine with these.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trail Back Trekking Poles:

These were useful on uneven ground. They adjusted easily and never slipped. The clip style such as holds these poles at their desired length is much more reliable than the twist-type adjusting mech.

It is essential to use tip covers if you carry poles thru airports! With exposed points they may be confiscated as dangerous. Better to pack them in checked luggage.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trail Back Trekking Poles:

Mine are bright red. I'm elderly & have carpal tunnel issues. Not needing to bend and stress my wrists is a joy. Other pedestrians seem to give me more space and bus drivers give me more time with these visible reminders that I may be less able and more frail than others.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trail Back Trekking Poles:

I love using trekking poles when I hike. They help reduce pressure on my knees. I use them primarily for day trips in the Adirondack and Catskill mountains of New York. I was tired of twist-lock poles that would come loose and collapse when I put weight on them.

The flick-lock mechanism on Black Diamond poles are secure, easy to adjust, and... secure! Oh, did I mention secure?

My only complaint is I wish these poles had a wider wrist strap.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trail Back Trekking Poles:

So far I really like these poles. It took me some acclamating to adjusting the length, I wasn't used to the click adjustment system. The snaps were a bit stiff at first but now work quite fine.

Purchased these poles for a friend after I purchased my first set. She was really pleased - took them out in the snow for a day hike and she felt more confident going up and down hills and the side of Blue Mountain
