100 Acre Cove SUP Tour
Tour one of Barrington’s quintessential salt marshes and discover its wildlife and scenic beauty. Come try stand up paddleboarding with one of our friendly, experienced and certified guides at Eastern Mountain Sports and see what all the buzz is about. SUP is one of the fastest growing and most popular thing that has happened to paddlesports in decades. It is simple, easy, fun and available for all to try. This sport provides a fantastic vantage point to explore nature and its shore line as well as providing a great way to get exercise for your whole body. We use boards that are stable and equipment that is friendly for all. Taking a SUP tour is the best way to get to experience this great sport as well as taking in all the local beauty. After you get the hang of it, you will begin to understand how this new vantage point is perfect for touring and exploring your favorite waterway.
100 Acre Cove is a perfect place to experience SUP and explore the local beauty. Visit osprey nests and terrapin turtle nesting sites in this wide open ecosystem that serves as a filtration system to Narragansett Bay. Great blue herrings and snowy egrets dot the banks and landscape as we paddle the perimeter of the tidal marsh. We will paddle north from the small boat ramp along route 114 and explore the marsh and its tributaries.
As we get deeper into the marsh the hum of the traffic and civilization fades away and the buzz of the marsh comes alive! Watch as the ospreys dive and pluck fish out the water and see how the many creatures of the sea serve as food for our migratory bird population. We will get a chance to get out along the marsh, stretch our legs and view the cages of the terrapin turtle’s nests.
