Comments about GREGORY Miwok 24 Daypack:
I have been an Osprey fan boy ever since I gained experience using their Talon Series. After getting hands on with the Gregory Miwok 24 however, I have now become a true turn-cloak, choosing to quarter my banner with the Osprey and Gregory symbols.
I was out to find a day bag for 5-15 mile day hikes mainly in the Whites, but also occasionally in the Green Mts, and in local conservation land. The Miwok 24 is perfect for this purpose.
The main compartment provides ample room for layers, rain jacket, hat, gloves, and lunch with some room to spare. The secondary top pocket is nice for easily storing and retrieving small items. I stow my id, sunglasses case, a swiss army knife, plus keys and a hiking journal in there.
Alongside gear and goodies, the Miwok 24 allows plenty of room/ weight bearing capacity for water. For longer summer hikes I'll typically pack a 3 liter bladder and two skinny liter bottles in the side pockets for bonus hydration. The Miwok does this comfortably with the total pack weight coming in at ~16lbs.
With the pack fully loaded and correctly adjusted it clings to your back wonderfully. Running down trails is a breeze with the pack staying right where it should be with the weight sitting right on your back.
Overall, excellent pack with no draw-backs that I could think of. Perfect day pack that holds all you'd reasonably require/ want for warm weather day hike with a nice minimalist look and feel to it.
