Works well for camping

By GardenerLady

from Andover, CT

Verified Reviewer

Pros

  • Good Flavor
  • Insulated
  • Makes Enough For 2 People

Cons

  • Measuring Cumbersome
  • Requires Coarse Grind

Best Uses

  • Car Camping
  • Power outage at home

Comments about GSI Java Press, 30 oz.:

We used this press car camping for several days, and it made enough for myself and my husband. We had previously used a simple metal filter that just sits over your cup and pour hot water through. That coffee tasted terrible and could only make a small cup at a time. The manufacturer recommends a coarse grind which our simple grinder doesn't really do, but it still worked well, and we could always grind at the store next time.

Easy to use, makes a decent cup of coffee fast. Also makes enough coffee for two cups so you don't have to brew twice. Easy to clean. Neoprene cover keeps coffee hot and protects your hands from burning. Great product!

Great coffee press

Pros

  • Durable
  • Easy

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Camp Coffee

Comments about GSI Java Press, 30 oz.:

This is a great french press that I used at home and in camp for a week to brew a couple cups of coffee before the rest of the crew wakes up. I dig the durable Lexan carafe and insulating sleeve with view port. I suggest one give this a go at home if not accustomed to french pressing coffee. I've had no problems plunging nor pouring.

    Service and delivery comments:

Quick delivery in great packaging in time to enjoy a couple of uses before bringing this press to camp. I tried the retail store but they were out of stock, so I ordered in-store online and shipping fees were waived. Excellent.
