Thule Hitch Rack Safety Recall
In voluntary cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Thule, Inc. is instituting a recall on these listed Hitch rack models: Expressway 995XT and Hitching Post Pro 934XT, 935 & 936XT. These models may have been purchased from Eastern Mountain Sports between 2003 and June 27, 2007. Thule has determined that a pinch point exists between the bike arm bracket and the upright assembly on these hitch-style bicycle racks. The only known risk from the pinch point is the potential to cause severe personal injury, including lacerations and/or amputations, when moving the bike arm bracket to its down position. If you belive you may have a Hitch rack covered by this recall, please contact Thule's recall hotline at 1-800-THULE91 (800-848-5391) or Eastern Mountain Sports customer service at 888-463-6367 to receive the needed retro fit kit to correct this issue.
Petzl Sarken Crampon Recall
Petzl has issued the following statement concerning the recall of their Sarken crampon:
Recent customer experience has shown that the front point of SARKEN crampons are susceptible to premature wearout following heavy use. This means cracking of the metal forefoot near the point(s), following by possible breakage if usage continues.
Petzl has stopped sales and production of these crampons and is recalling all SARKEN crampon models because we feel that the potential lifetime of the crampons should be longer than user experience has demonstrated. If you own SARKEN crampons (any binding system, black or orange metallic parts):
If you have any other questions concerning this recall, please email at email@example.com.
