We've had this carrier for about a month now and use it almost every day. We use it even more than expected because its easier than the stroller to use when there is snow on the ground and the baby loves it. My husband is a big man (250lbs) and it is comfortable for him to use but small enough that I can use it too.
My baby really enjoys having his own little seat while taking in the views.
My daughter is 6 mos. old and we have used this for close to a month. She loves riding in the pack and being up high. I am a big guy (260+ lbs.) and the pack fits me very comfortably. My daughter fits snugly in the pack and is very comfortable in there. I have used this for hiking up small, steep hikes and also around town on errands and while on vacation around the resort. It is a versatile pack and can be used for shorter or longer trips. The rain/sun hood is great to keep babies safe from exposure to wind/sun/rain. My wife and I are very happy with this pack.
I did a lot of research on carriers before buying the pathfinder. We are going to D.C. next month and know that a stroller is not going to be very convenient. [...] My son was sitting in it the whole time it was being adjusted and they were even able to adjust for the torso length without having me take the pack off. We decided to use it right away and went on a short 1 mile walk just to make sure we liked it. I loved it and my son, who is 5 months was grinning from ear to ear. We are taking it to the zoo tomorrow and I can't wait to use it again so my son will be able to see all the animals which I know would not be possible in the stoller.
This kid toting backpack is great! My daughter loves riding in it! For a while, she would only ride in her kid carrier and not her stroller. She enjoys hiking with my wife and I in it, and when it's combined with the screen house (the enclosing no-see-um mesh), we don't have to put insect repellent on her. I find it just as comfortable as my large capacity backpack. The Snugli version didn't fit me (because I'm 6'4").
We got this pack because our daughter now 1 year old is out of her baby bjorn. It was great very comfortable after all the straps were adjusted properly. The only thing I do not like is that the space for water bottls is to small and I cannot use my hydration bladder. I have become used to my hydration bladder and really miss it. I always have to ask a hiking companion to give me my water bottle and it really does not carry enought water for any long hike. All that said I do not think I could have found a more comfortable pack. I was amazed how little I felt the pack on a 3 1/2 mile hike and my husband had no problem with it on a 4 1/2 mile hike. It helped that we both used hiking pole to help with balance expecially on climbs and decents. Having 30 +- pounds on your back kind of changes your balance.
The only down fall to this winning product is the poor instruction manual if it weren't for other moms/dads I would have been lost on how to put the carrier on and off without help.
