the cyborg's seem to be great for ice, they're easy to get on and adjust, and, basically, like any good product, they aren't on one's mind when they're being used: they just work.

2 full seasons of guiding Grade 3-4 ice in the White Mountains have proven these crampons rock to me! I wear them with my Asolo Cholatse for a snug presise fit. Frankenstein, Willard, Washington, Willoughby, these are holding up well. Had to trim the extra long straps. A bit to aggressive for general mountaineering, but we all need to own two pairs of crampons anyways right?

Eastern Mountain Sports Response:We are very surprised to hear of your disappointment. Our EMS Climbing School has used the Cyborgs for our climbing programs all winter long with great success. They are a great choice for waterfall ice climbing. They are sharp, aggressive crampons with nice built in ABS. What type of boot were you using and for what type of climbing? The Cyborgs are not the first pick for general mountaineering as they are not that comfortable to walk in, and probably wouldn’t fit a real bulky plastic boot easily. However, they are designed to excel at steep ice and mixed routes. Our first priority is your complete satisfaction with your Eastern Mountain Sports® purchase.

These crampons will go the extra mile. I had a minor avalanche come over me on my last climb and they held like a charm. They stay put and don't blow out. I also beleive they are lighter than competitors. I have large feet and they adjust well with the extended bar.
Great Crampon; Watch the Heel Bail

This is a great product especially if you can find it on sale. The front bail is easier to adjust than on the G-14 and I think it compares very favorably to the competition.
I've used this crampon for a season of vertical ice and mountaineering, and it performed great, but there are two design aspects that can cause problems. Both have to do with the back bail
1)The nylon strap does not go through the plastic latch at the back; instead it attaches to it from either side which can stress the plastic and it may fail. This is just a theory, this hasn't been a problem for me
2)The adjustment knob on the back changes the height at which the wire attaches to the latch. The knob turns on a threaded steel axle which is held in place with two washers (one of them snaps onto a groove in the axle). The snap washer has popped off my crampon, which made the back adjustement useless, so now i have to go to the hardware store to find a replacement.
I've used these crampons with Koflachs and LaSportiva Nepal Evos and they fit both boots nicely.
Aside from the problems above this is a great crampon, and I would still highly recommend it.

Easily adjusted. Stick and hold to the ice well. Have not done any mixed climbing with them but guides I have spoke with say these are the ones to have in your pack.
