So I just finished the final 1500 ft. push up to the summit ridge of Mt. Hood after dodging rocks from the size of a pea to the size of my face the whole time when the shouts or "ROCK" "ROCK" came yelling downward once again to the 25 or so people on the face. Watching the palm size rock bang left and right off sun cup til it slams into the helmet of a guy a thousand feet down. He pops up, looks at his broken helmet, and the group moves on. The helmet worked for him. I don't know if it was a Petzl, but I didn't care. I just knew that I was happy I finally became a helmet believer. He would have been killed if he wasn't wearing one.

This helmet worked great on a recent cave trip. I barely felt it and it protected my head on the low, craggy ceilings. I knocked my head around a lot but I didn't feel a thing. This resulted in it getting a bit loose but a quick adjustment and I was good to go. It fit my Princeton Tec headlamp easily and securely. Though my body was overheating from too much clothing in 70F weather, it did not contribute to the problem as my head was not hot. Another plus for this helmet is the sizing. I've got a small head and this is one of just a few I can fit without having to go the child helmet route. It's nice I'm not burning my wallet with it yet it's from a brand I can trust. It received good reviews from gear testers too! I haven't encountered any cons yet.

I was very pleased with this helmet overall. The fit felt very secure and the harness was easy to adjust to my head. It is significantly lighter than the Ecrin Roc, and yet still rugged enough to take a beating in an awkward chimney. Plus, as a woman, I have a hard time finding a helmet that I can easily fit my pony tail through, not a problem with this one! As an added bonus, the dark blue color is very fashionable and matches my shoes! A helmet that looks good, is comfortable, and easy to put on is much more likely to be worn than left at the bottom of the route.
