This helmet is very light and breathes well. The chin straps are highly adjustable but can take a little time to get just right.

Comfortable with lots of internal padding. This helmet has a very comfortable tensioning system to hold it in place. My son and I are completely different sizes and we both wear this helmet comfortably.

Prior to buying this helmet, I had the Black Diamond Half Dome... after a fall, that helmet cracked and I got this one as a replacement. The Petzl Meteor III is by far the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. It is incredibly light weight and you do not even notice it on your head. It is great to wear all day long, and I feel it provides more coverage than my old BD helmet.
Because the helmet is made of foam, I wouldn't use it for ice climbing where you expect many small impacts... I would imagine this helmet would crack and lose its ability to protect. But if you are doing single pitch, sport, or shorter day climbs, it is an excellent helmet. By being more comfortable, it makes it more likely to be worn, and hence protects you better.
