This vest works great as a windblocking addition to your layering system. It's lightweight and comfortable. I don't find that it contributes much warmth. However it cuts down on wind during any outdoor sport where light weight and wind blocking are a consideration. I use it for trail running and cycling.
A must for cross country skiing!

We are avid cross country skiiers and back country skiiers who live in Vermont. This jacket is ideal for us. It provides warmth and wind protection but doesn't feel too heavy. The neck zips up over the chin - a really great feature!

I use this vest mostly for skiing under a shell or jacket depending on the temperature. It is also so good looking, it can be worn casually with a shirt and jeans.

I'm a big Mtn H/W fan. We all know they make good products for casual to advanced outdoors people that are stylish as well. However, I am a little miffed about this sizing of this vest. I own a M/H Ski jacket in size Large. The sleeves run long but since it is a shell, it is roomy enough in chest/shoulders for layering. I decided to go with Medium in the vest. It fits like a glove - too tight. I am a size 40-41 chest. I have a bigger neck & shoulders than most guys my size but I am short too, 5'8".
Should've gone large.

I got this from a friend on a day when I was going out ice climbing. It was cold and windy and the vest was the perfect layering piece. I can't wait to wear it in the fall and climbing. Finally a vest that fits my body, doesn't choke me, and is stylish as well.

I purchased this vest right after Christmas after hearing really good things about the brand, and this style of vest. It's warm enough to wear by it's self during down time, or in the office, with out being bulky or encumbering.
Outside in the recent cold snap of the Vermont Winter, it acts as a perfect layering option with what ever else I'm wearing. The material is great at stopping the wind, and when i left it behind recently, i greatly missed it!
I'm hoping to get a lot of use out of this, and I'm definitely going in the right direction for it :)
Highly recommended.

Had to return vest for a larger size. Had to get in a different color as the blue does not come in an extra large.

perfect piece for high excertion cool/cold weather sports. Wore it over a thermal baselayer for two days of ice climbing on Mt. washington and I didn't need to put on my windshell until I topped out in 20-30 mph gusts. Perfect mix of warmth an ventilation.
