I've climbed with the Moccs for years now and don't think there is any other shoe that compares. I live around Indian creek and there is nothing better for thin cracks than the Mocc. they stretch 1/2 size down down size. slip them on and climb on!

These shoes are great for everything, and especially for crack climbing. For crack climbing or for long routes, I wear them the same size as my hiking shoes. They are also excellent for sport climbing and gym climbing, but I use a half size smaller. Super comfortable, great rubber, very durable. If I could only have one pair of rock shoes, these would be it.

I love how these shoes mold perfectly to my foot after a very short while. They really become my own and are comfy comfy comfy. Stealth is by far the stickiest, and the flexible soles are useful all the time---smearing, dicey thin cracks, making my feet stronger, etc. thanks 5.10 xooxxo

In the past 3 months I have gone through three pairs of shoes trying to find the perfect blend of comfort and aggressiveness. First try - La Sportiva Muira: very aggressive, but very uncomfortable; Second try - Evolv Elektra: Very comfortable but lacking when it comes to harder climbs; in comes the Moccs. These things are great, they are super comfortable but I have no problem climbing in them (except the Muira hold much better on micro edges) but for all around climbing they are great. Bouldering, top rope, sport, these are my number 1 shoe now. I feel totally comfortable heel hooking in them and the only complaint is that my feet are red after climbing in them for hours. Note on sizing, I wear a size 8 in Evolv and La Sportiva but the Moccs are a 9.5, so try them on before you buy them and get them snug because they will stretch.

These are a great second pair of shoes behind my Mammut Goblins. They are not as aggressive, but that's what I wanted. They are great slab shoes. I would recommend buying them even tighter than other shoes you might own, because 1) They stretch quite a bit 2) If you heel hook alot you'll really want that secure heel and if you get them say 'comfortable' at try on you'll probably be a bit disappointed in a few weeks. The one thing I don't like is the shape of the rubber. It's very narrow at the heel and they take a while to get the shoe where it should on your foot. I bought mine pretty small and sometimes wish I'd gotten a half size bigger, but if I wear them alot they stretch and are quite comfortable. If you order these don't be disappointed if they don't fit right, I'd recommend heading into an EMS (if you have one near you) and trying a few sizes on and keep in mind the stretch issue. Oh, especially if you like red feet!

great for almost everything if you size them accordingly. to give you an idea, i'm a 9.5 street shoe, i wear an 8.5 in the mocs and initially they fit very tight but stretched over time, now they are extremely comfortable. i also climb in the sportiva testerossas for overhanging climbs and wear a euro size 40.5, and the anasazi VCS in an 8.5(tight but comfortable for about 45 min). the rubber is awesome and there's no dead space. heal hooking is ok if you don't pull too hard. all in all, one of the best all-around shoes from bouldering, sport (vertical to overhanging), cracks, etc.

Good shoe for a second shoe. But the red dye of the shoe comes off the first few times and will dye your feet red, especially if your feet sweat.

Although I'm just a casual gym hack I think these are great. They are elatively easy to break in, comfortable and sticky on just about all my holds. I'm satisfied enough to be on my third pair.

As far as I'm concerned, you have to try these on when you actually purchase a pair. Don't go by a review that says they fit a 1/2 size small or 1/2 size big. Climbing shoes don't fit like regular shoes. Usually you purchase them 1 or more sizes smaller than your normal shoes (so they will conform to your feet..like soccer cleats). I would suggest going to a place that actually has an indoor climbing area (so you can try them out).
My own experience is the shoes feel different on the wall than they do on the ground.

I'm on my second pair, and the only complaint is that my second pair still turns my feet red after climbing in them for 9 months. Otherwise, I would suggest these to anyone.

Eastern Mountain Sports Response:Follow this advice and it will save you a lot of aggravation.

the shoes are very nice, get smaller size up to a size down from your street shoes, they will strech quite a bit, make sure to get them smaller if you want a tight fit after a month of good use.the are great shoes i love them i am very happy with what they can do!

A good all-around shoe
By Cape Ann Firm ManVerified Reviewer from Gloucester, MA on 12/3/2006
Comfort:
Can be worn for a while
Sizing:
Perfect length
Width:
Feels too wide
Pros:
Comfortable, Has precise edging, Sticky sole
Cons:
Does not heal well, Pockets of loose fabric
Best Uses:
Bouldering, Casual Climbing

I found that the shoe is limited to a specific range of climbing. While on a problem I tried to heal hook a narrow shelf and could not feel the heal "grabbing" the rock. I switched to my Galileo's and there was no difficulty finding the right placement. This is a serious limitation. However, the shoe is comfortable and edges really well. Stealth C4 rubber is always really sticky which makes difficult slab climbing a little less difficult. The rand also fits my foot well so there is minimal movement within the shoe. I really like these as a secondary pair.

Favorable review of Anasazi Mocasyms
By Experienced climberVerified Reviewer from Central New Hampshire on 11/9/2006
Comfort:
I prefer this thick suede
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Width:
These allow 4 wide feet
Pros:
Rugged
Best Uses:
Bouldering, Casual Climbing, Climbing Gym, Trad Climbing

Bought 1/2 size larger than normal for cold weather climbing with socks. Stretch panels are so strong that they didn't move on breakin multi-pitch crack and slab and face climbs of WhiteHorse Ledge. Not as deadly precise as Anasazi Velcro but Mocasyms offer all-day comfort I needed. Other shoes: SouthWest, Spire, LaSportiva Katana.
