The Five Ten Galileo rock climbing shoes are stiff, very supportive, and designed for high-performance climbs.

"Sticky rubber makes for surefire holds. The Onyx rubber under this shoe is the next step in the arms race: It's firmer and more aggressive than even its coveted predecessor, C4 rubber. The stiff, yet supportive upper is ideal for difficult multipitch climbs." - Men's Health Gear Fall 2005

This shoe is wider than average and has excellent rubber.

The heel is a bit loose but overall fits very well.

There have been complaints about the overall quality of 5-10 shoes and how they holds up. Cannot comment on this yet (had it for under an month) but so far so good...

Great shoe Supposed to crunch toes a little, but it was too much, I wear a street shoe 12 and I had to order the 13 and my toes were still bent but not too. Doesnt stretch recommend trying on in store to find size but when it fits, its the best shoe out there!! would buy again

The stealth onyx rubber is quite simply the stickiest rubber out there. PERIOD. I've owned a pair of La Sportiva Katanas and they just don't come anywhere close to the friction in smearing and edging that you get with these shoes. You won't really notice a difference if you are lucky enough to mainly climb outside. But for those of us who are stuck to a gym for most or all of our climbing you won't find anything better. Definately a slab/vertical/slightly overhanging shoe. For super-overhanging it doesn't impair your climbing but doesn't help because it is a flat last.

These shoes are great. The rubber is super sticky. They preform in all areas well with no real weaknesses. After a year and a half of avid climbing i finally blew out the toes.

These shoes are awesome. The rubber is sticky and (so far) very DURABLE. I love these shoes.

You have to try these on and edge before you buy them. I wear a street shoe size 9. I was expecting to downsize. 8.5 was crazy painful. I tried on a 9, and there were hotspots all along the knuckles of my toes when I edged. It didn't feel right - it hurt! I reluctantly asked for a size 9.5 and tried them on. FANTASTIC. Tight fit, no pain, no loose heel. I bought them, but I was worried about the shoes stretching. I have noticed no change in size since I bought them. THESE SHOES DO NOT STRETCH. I love these shoes, and I climb in them 3 times a week.

Everybody's foot is different...but don't think you have to downsize from your street shoe.

The thing i enjoy most is the edging power in the shoe. Also, the stiff sole allows you to get a larger size which makes the shoe more comfortable and does kill you feet. The stealth onyx rubber bottoms are nice and super sticky. Also, the synthetic uppers do stretch a tiny bit, but not nearly as much as leather. All around the best shoe i have had out of three other shoes.

This shoe is great for the price! The stiff sole is nice because the shoe doesn't have to be uncomfortably tight, you still get great control with great comfort. The stealth onyx rubber is also super sticky. These shoes are good to get the correct size because they wont stretch due to the synthetic, not leather part.

This shoe has the stickiest rubber on the market, bottom line. Not only are they sticky, they fit well and are very comfortable. I was working a steep rout with a pair of Scarpa mago's and i was having trouble sticking to this micro chip foothold. I got the Galileo's and stuck to it first try, no problem. This shoe however not aggressive handles indoor bouldering to steep sport routs and i would recommend the 5.10 Galileo to anyone who climbs.

This was a great all around shoe, 5.10 really knows how to deliver when the make a product. The new onyx rubber clings onto anything like your feet are glues there. From sketchy smears to the smallest dime edges from toe hooks to heel hooks it performs. A must have for any climber. Only downsides in my eyes is there is a small pressure point on my big toe from the edge of the rubber. Can get a bit painfull after a long climb. Only other issue I had is they stretched quite a bit more than I thought they would since they are synthetic. I wear a 10.5 street shoe so i went with a 9 for my climbing shoe but my heel still manages to pop out on a few hardcore heel hooks. Should have gone with an 8.5 or an 8. All in all its a great shoe.

I was not able to test this shoe because it felt a 1/2 size too small. My street footwear size is 11.5, and I figured the size 13 would fit, but to my dismay it didn't as my four smaller toes curled uncomfortable. [...] but I just wanted to tell those with "larger" feet that this shoe apparently runs on the smaller size.
