I bought these to "trade up" from my Sportiva Mythos and I think they are just too aggressive for me. I agree with people who have said that the heel is an issue with this shoe that prevents proper fit and might make people need a 1/2 size bigger than the Sportiva Mythos. It seemed like I couldn't get my heel far enough back into the shoe/in the proper position because when I tried, the back of the shoe came too far up and dug really hard into my Achilles tendon. There ended up being a space/air behind my heel, even though the shoe design forced my toes forward hard. Lastly, I think that this shoe might be better for bouldering -- if you slab climb or climb and belay for long periods, I'm guessing that the pain involved to flex and stand around in the shoe would be too great, unless you took a month or more to break them in little by little and you have heels that jut out a lot from behind your ankle. Too much for me.

Eastern Mountain Sports Response:Fit is key with climbing shoes! I had a similar experienc with a pair of Scarpa Edge's years back...same exact problem...air pockets and digging into my Achilles...tried like hell to break them in...ending up selling them.

Love the edges on the shoe, I can put my foot onto anything! Super tacky, and firm. The opposing velcro straps definately gave me a better fit than others
only con is my right foot in 1/2 size bigger than my left so I had to buy for the left, meaning the right is a bit uncomfortable after awhile

Make sure to try these on for the best fit before you order on line. They run at least 2 sizes too small and are extremely narrow. The heel is too high and rubs. Expect blisters on your ankles and toes, even when you find a pair that fit.

Eastern Mountain Sports Response:Boots and especially climbing shoes have an extremely personal fit. Please contact us if you need to return or exchange them for something that will be a better fit for you. 888.463.6367.
