Used the spork on the trail. They were a 1/4" too long for my container (Minor). Big problem, boiled them to sterilze on the trail and they fell apart. Good design, should be a bit shorter and made of titanuim or some metal.
So far I've had a very positive experience with the sports. Haven't tossed them in the dishwasher yet, so I'm not sure how that would go. But they're light, compact and super easy to clean. I just got into camping really this year and found regular plastic silverware to be too flimsy and metal pieces too heavy for the effort.
I prefer this alternative to the three-piece on a ring - it's less bulky to eat with. Recommended for anything looking for some quality kitchen ware.
Nice little Spork
Blissfully simple. In an age of bells and whistles it's nice to find a piece of gear that just does what you need it to and nothing else. I have several of these - use them for eating as well as cooking. Perfect for my 3 kids. Lightweight, can stash them anywhere.
Like most combination utensils, you end up with a tool that is neither a good spoon, knife, nor fork. The handle is too short, makes it difficult to keep your hand clean while eating (which is the point of using a fork in the first place)
The serrated knife edge on the side of the fork is a bad plan. Very uncomfortable to eat with, you have to take care not to cut your mouth.
All in all, I think you are better off bringing a separate fork and spoon.
A very strong and durable fork/spoon/knife for the price and weight. Great buy!
Very simple design that is a great piece of gear for pretty much any trip in to the outdoors. I've used this on every trip I've been on in the last year and it worked out well. I would like it a tad better if it was about an inch or 2 longer so my knuckles don't get messy when I get to the bottom of my package of trail food.[...]
