I use the JetBoil climbing, hiking, car camping, and backpacking. You can cook "boil in a bag" rice in it and a lot more. PCS is a great tool for cooking in the woods. Everyone should have one!

I don't like to carry a lot of gear when I go backpacking and this stove is perfect. It is small, lightweight, and easy to light and use. If you like noodles, this is great. You can also get pretty creative with what you eat. Plus, everything goes right inside of the cup. It alsop works great in the cold unless you canister is almost empty, but it will work. Wicked good.

User friendly. Great for quick stops and having a cup of hot coca on Mt. Washington at the weekend.
Did take a little longer to boil but considering the altitude and 19 degree temp I am more than happy. Looking forward to using it again.

I have owned the Jetboil for over a year and it still amazes me every time I use it. The heating system is very effecient as I average one fuel cansister per week of camping at 3 meals a day. The heating unit cools down very quickly after every use. The only problem is I have had to replace the igniter but it was an easy fix.

This is the only backcountry stove you will ever need.

Easy to light and use. Boils water very quickly. All the parts fit into the cup including the fuel canister. The pieces go together easily. On my last weekend trip the other 6 people kept wanting to borrow it for making their hot drinks because it was so easy and quick.

Great but limited
By NickVerified Purchaser from Smithfield, RI on 12/28/2006
Pros:
Easy to Light, Powerful
Cons:
Difficult to Clean, Poor temperature control, Unstable
Best Uses:
Backpacking

It's a great little stove but you can only do so much with it. The cup is very narrow and it's impossible to cook anything besides boiling it. But, it heats up water very quickly and the fuel usage is amazingly small.

Take It Everywhere!!!
By HikingNutVerified Purchaser from Saratoga, NY on 12/13/2006
Pros:
Easy to Light, Powerful, Rugged Design
Cons:
Bulky, Pricey
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Car Camping, Hiking, Hunting, Skiing

Although bought on a whim, my jetboil has turned out to be one of my favorite and most versatile pieces of equipment. The jetboil is self contained and is very conservative on fuel, yet heats water to a boil in about 2 minutes (provided the canister isn't low on fuel). It works well in a stiff wind. Mine has lasted several seasons and is as good as new!

Great Product

Pros:
Great temperature control, Lightweight, Stable
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Car Camping, High Altitude, Hiking

great product it really does boil water in 1min. even in the coldest of tempatures, the only thing you need to watch out for is its a little fragile, and a bit top heavy so keep it on a flat surface.

Sweet Stove
By Sleeping CoyoteVerified Reviewer from NY on 11/7/2006
Pros:
Lightweight, Stable
Cons:
Poor temperature control
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Hiking

This is a great stove. All the parts to the stove fit nicely into the cup. It heats water fast but I have found if you use a msr pocket rocket stove or a msr super fly stove in conjunction with the cup you will heat your water even faster. The temperature control is poor its basically on, low or off. The stove fuel is pretty sweet due to its size but for the claimer of being a four season mix I doubt. I have tested MSR, Jet Boil and Primus fuel cans with the stove and found that there claim to a four season mix is just something they put on the package, so in short be prepared to place you can of fuel in your pocket or sleeping bag to keep the can warm if the temps fall below 32f.

Eight days one canister
By EricVerified Reviewer from Starkville, MS on 9/26/2006
Pros:
Great temperature control, Lightweight, Stable

Eight days in the Winds on one canister. I'm sold.... It does a great job of boiling water. The French Press is a required purchase if you are a coffee drinker. If they would develop a 6-8 inch frying pan life would be complete. I have to say that when my friend was cooking pan cakes, baking pizza, and making cinamon rolls; my boil in a bag meals were starting to get a little old.
