Easy to install but hard to use
By TwoWheelMattVerified Reviewer from Danbury, CT on 7/9/2008
Pros:
Easy to Install, Lightweight
Cons:
Some bikes don't fit
Best Uses:
Road Bikes
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Rack is great with one or two road bikes, but can be difficult to use with some mountain bikes due to their unusual geometry and wider handle bars. The Thule rack adapter bar that attaches to the seat post and headset seems to fix this problem in most cases.

works great

Best Uses:
Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes
Describe Yourself:

This rack was really easy to install and very easy to use; it is very stable and the arms fold down when not in use easily. The only thing I would improve on is I would have bought one that held 3-4 bikes but there wasn't one like this available. The Thule brand is worth the extra few bucks, my friend has a cheaper brand and it's not as stable.

Solid construction-well built product
By HawkiVerified Reviewer from Catfish, PA. on 5/29/2008
Pros:
Durable, Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Stable
Cons:
Rides rather high to lift
Best Uses:
Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes, SUV's with rear spare
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Well constructed rack, very stable with bikes in place-no sway at all. Mounts kinda high on spare tire and is somewhat of a chore to lift bike up that high to load on rack; but that might be my own weakness. (bad back).Otherwise I am very happy with the rack and would recommend it to anyone.

Surprisingly easy to use.

Best Uses:
Large Cars, Road Bikes
Describe Yourself:

I used this once on my 05 Honda CR-V. It was surprisingly easy to put on my spare tire, and my bike fit perfectly (after some adjusting of the supports). It didn't seem made for cruising bikes much, so with a little added strapping of my own, the unit was very stable.

Nice rack
By Ryan MVerified Purchaser from Indiana on 12/24/2006
Pros:
Durable, Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Stable
Best Uses:
Jeep Wrangler, Mountain Bikes

It's a really nice, super-stable rack. The diameter at it's widest point is 3 cm, in case you're wondering, as I was, if it would fit through the hole in the center of your spare tire. Nothing really fancy or frilly, and thus far I haven't found a need for the anti-sway cages as the new cradles are very stable.

Just right.
By geesskayVerified Reviewer from tampa, FL on 11/1/2006
Pros:
Durable, Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Stable
Best Uses:
Jeep

I've been looking for a good, easy to use bike carrier that I could put on the back of my jeep and not have to think about after that.
This completely fit the bill.
Does what I need it to do and does it without a lot of drama - just gets the job done.
