No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I use them for morning rides in 30 degree F weather. They keep your legs warm.... BUT they constantly slip down....they need some type of garter system. I gave lowest rating because I have to use safety pins to keep them up.

Expensive ankle warmer

The product description states that "tunnelled elastic construction at top comfortably holds warmer in position." Both legs fell down every time that I wore them. I gave up and returned them. They will have to be worn under cycling pants or polypro if they are going to stay in place. The leg warmers worked well as the world's most expensive ankle warmer though. PI needs better elastic or I need to hit the gym to make bigger legs. I am 150 pounds, 5'8", and 14"/13" calves at largest circumference and 19" thighs at mid thigh. Good luck.
