Nice Alternative to Spandex. Padded lining comes out and allows you to use the just as shorts.

I usually put these on when I make the trip into Kinderhook or Chatham from Valatie (about 5-10 miles). I guess I do mostly road biking at this point then. I've had problems with chaffing and running or biking on hot days, but the padding through the seat is really nice for preventing that. That might be standard in bike shorts, but this is really my first experience with it. With the outer shell (shorts come in a tight-to-the-body shell and an outer shell), they just look like a regular pair of shorts. This is important to be because just riding around the neighborhood, tight biking shorts would seem out of place. Already took a fall with them, and they held up just fine.

Pretty good shorts, not too baggy, not too tight. just slick enough to slide off the back fo the seat on a down hill without being slippery. the inner liner is a little smaller than I thought it would be but stretches really nicely. The undershort is a strech mesh bike short with fleece butt pad, really a decent piece of gear. I'll buy more.

The Ether shorts have been great! roomy but not so baggy that you will get snagged by a tree and ripped off your bike! Like the removalble inner short, take it out and you have a decent casual short.

I think these shorts are a nice combination of function and style. With these shorts I feel comfortable riding my bike down to the store to shop without feeling awkward, as I would with spandex shorts.

I commute about 4 miles to work and I hit the single track a few times during the week and the weekend. I wanted a pair of shorts that dont look goofy and can hold my ipod/ cell phone while keeping my sensitive areas padded. These shorts do it all. First of all they fit great. The elastic waist keeps the shorts tight in all riding positions. The lower pockets are extremely functional for carrying a cell and ipod. The pockets are perfect size so those smaller electronics do it shift or bounce around. The inner bike short is made of a synthetic mesh and does a great job wicking sweat while keeping you cool. The bottom hem of the inner short has an elastic band to keep the shorts from riding up. Plus you can easily remove the inner shorts to clean them. The padding is perfect. I sit most of the way to work because I am on the road and I could not be more comforable. Hopefully everyone is aware that you do not wear underwear with any bike shorts. Buy These!!!
