These lenses are great once you have them in. Every time I switch the clear lens out with the red lens to go night hiking it feels as though the lens is going to snap in half with the amount of force need to pop it out. It never breaks, but I'm pretty convinced it's due to luck. You need a flat head screw driver to pop it out and in the field if you want to switch back and forth it would be a real pain. I would recommend this to people but be aware that the lenses don't switch out easy. If you want to get into night hiking and a red lense is something you want to protect your night vision, I would recommend the headlamp you can slide back and forth from a red lense to a clear lense.
