I am a headlamp junkie

I think headlamps are one of the most useful tools available. Between my son, my buddy, and I we have had 12 different headlamps. I find this one is the best. Very bright on highest setting and the boost comes in handy when looking down trail or a steep slope. The switch mechanism is easier to use than other units. It is also comfortable to wear and stays put w/o needing to be too tight on my head. I haven't yet encontered a disadvantage.

Used if for four days in Grand Canyon including night hike to Plateau Point. Batteries are still going strong!

I was a bit dissapointed with the button to change the intensity of the beam though other reviews had warned about this. Really I was in it for the light.

The battery length, dispersion filter and button guard (tilt light all the way up to prevent accidental activation while not in use) were all really great benefits.

I think the battery indicater will come in handy too just have not used it really yet.

I bought this unit to replace an older incandencent bulb headlamp which had a battery life of only 4-6 hrs. The product is orders of magnitude better all-round.... Brighter, longer lasting, whiter light, more light functions (low, medium, high, burst, blink). It even has a battery level indicator which is useful after 100+ hours of use when your bound to forget how many hours you've been using it for. One of my best performing pieces of equipment to date, and a must have for solo-tripping on the water.

Greetings, While on a recent climb with Ed [...] and Peter [...], the Myo XP headlamp was highly recommended to me. It works as well as the other Myo headlamps, but it's reduced weight, especially with three lithium batteries, is a key factor for me when selecting a headlamp. I've also had to use it at home during a recent prolonged power outage. I'm very satisified with the purchase. Sincerely, Art H

I bought lesser units and finally bought this unit. I am satisfied now with a rugged unit that gets knocked about with my hand tools. I put it on when I first get to the job and turn it off and on as needed. My first unit lasted 3 years before the wire cord got ripped out due to it getting hooked on something. I didn't hesitate as to what unit would replace it. I am now on my second unit. I also bought my wife one for working in the garden. She often is working into the night and now she has a good headlight.

Better than a light in my mouth!
By Pearl JohnsonVerified Reviewer from Nome, Alaska on 2/20/2007
Pros:
Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable
Best Uses:
Arctic winter survival
Describe Yourself:
Inuit hunter
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

"Better than holding a flashlight between my teeth and my mouth freezing!" These are the comments from the receiver of the headlamp. He is Inuit, lives at St. Lawrence Island in the Arctic and hunts & fishes for food. He is mobil using a snowmachine/boat for transportation. He also assists the Alaska State Troopers during emergency rescues. This headlamp is invaluable for survival, hunting, rescue efforts, repairing and maintaining hunting gear, survival equipment and snowmachines. Enables better search and rescue efforts among other uses. Iditarod racers use it! In essence, this is probably a necessity in the Arctic and enables more effective hunting and is definitely a life saver!
