I bought this for my son. We haven't used it yet so I cannot comment on the durability or battery life. What I do like about it is that I can lie on my back and read a book without having a battery pack digging into the back of my head. Also, there is no fussy upper head strap.

The fuel headlamp is my main source of illumination when dealing with power outages here in Northern Virginia. It's light, provides adequate illumination for most tasks and leaves your hands free to do other things. You can read by it's light. The three level brightness control allows me to conserve batteries when optimum light is not needed. The flasher option is of little usefullness to me but you never know when it could be handy. Overall, a good, well made product.
I use this product almost everyday in all kinds of weather and it has never failed me. You can't beat it for [$]. This is the best head lamp I have used to date and the most cost effective to boot.

I expect to use the headlamp when traveling, both when hiking and just as a hands-free flashlight. So far, it's been very handy at home. I can get light into inconvenient spots while having both hands free. It's good for power outages too.
