Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Although there were bears around we did not need to use it. The holster (included) was easy to attach to your belt. At least it give you a little peace of mind

I have had to use this and was happy I had my shotgun too. I had better luck with ( guard alaska spray) it is 20% rather than 6%. I still carry the shotgun though.
