I have used the Hiker Pro on most of my backpacking and Boundary Waters trips. It works great, it's easy to use, and it is lightweight. It is a staple for anyone who wants to avoid the bulky weight of water on any trip. The one con to the Hiker Pro is that the filter life is considerably shorter than other filters on the market.
I am someone who enjoys going out and seeing new places and got this filter because I had used one on a school canoe trip and was impressed with it. I use it when backpackin along the portion of the AT that runs near where I live. It works well and filters quickly and easily.

It is a great pump, exept for the fact that it is pretty bulky. the case that it comes with is smaller than the product, and with all of the attachments, it needs to be shoved into the case to fit. I used it over a two week backpacking trek and it worked fine the entire time. aside from the size, it is fine.

Had another companies filter for sometime. Always had trouble with it. Now own two of these and they have been flawless every time out. Never had to field strip either one because of failure. Most trips I supply the filtered water for four or more people. They have had a lot of water pumped through them.

For years was using the same filter only under the PUR name. For the price it is the best buy on the market.

Good vaule, great overall prodcut, perfect for 5-10 day trips. It could be lighter, but the excellent tasting water makes it worth it to carry for me.
