I have the older model of this bag and have seen the new one. The only difference is the new straps look great and would probably feel good if the bag was nice and heavy. I used the old version on a week long canoe trip and it was perfect. The only reason to not buy this is if you are an idiot

This product was great for overnight raft trips - it held my tent, sleeping bag, thermarest and clothes etc... with no problems.
