Bought this kayak after looking at several others in its class, including the Old Town Otter. I liked the bigger cockpit, thigh rests, and the foot rests...turned out to be a wise choice! We use it strictly on ponds and flat rivers, and find it to be an easy boat to paddle and maneuver. The adjustable footrests are a nice feature, but the plastic adjusting rods seem a bit thin, and probably won't last more than a few seasons...but thats a very very minor complaint. Outstanding boat for the price.
Great kayak for the price

We are "Senior Citizens" just beginning to enjoy kayaks and these are wonderful for us. We are in the process of learning the art of kayaks and are loving our time on the lake.

I use this kayak on lakes and river inlets to watch wildlife and play in solitude. My first yak was a swifty 9.5 which was a little shorter and lighter. In a moment of temporary insanity, I sold it and now they don't make it anymore. Bought the Perception to replace it...it is almost as good!

The Prodigy 10 by Perception is a sweet kayak for use on quiet ponds and lakes as well as Class 1 + 2 Rivers. The quality of this kayak excedes the competition and the features are well thought out and engineered. This is a very stable kayak and is great for beginners, like myself. The tracking and turning of this kayak in quiet water is excellent overall. Cool Graphics package to give this kayak some attitude and style. Thank you, Perception !!

These were recommended by an excellent outfitter in 0cracoke, NC.
We bought two and stowed them on the decks of our big boat for
exploring when we're at anchor. They're wonderful family boats...
