Love this kayak! Owned a Walden Experience for many years. I wanted a boat that was a little faster and had a larger cockpit so I could take my dog in the boat with me. Owning a Walden Experience was a hard act to follow, but I am very happy with the selection of this boat.

I am completely pleased and absolutely love it! I am a beginner Kayaker, who was under clear of what would be the right fit for me. [...] The Kayak strides through the waves without any issues, not tipsy, plenty of room, very comfortable seat, lots of space for snacks and clothing in the compartment. I am a small lady and have no trouble with the length or weight of this boat.

fishing model
By Dan from CT on 7/20/2008
Pros:
Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Maneuverability, Stable
Cons:
Large cockpit
Best Uses:
Day Trips, Flat Waters
Describe Yourself:
Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The angler model is great. two rod holders are useful but the rer flush mount is hard to reach. Large cockpit makes movement and getting to tackle a breeze but also means you will get wet compared to smaller openings. So what made it great for me fishing may hurt others who want just a leasure ride.

My husband and I own a Gen2 and a Duralite (10lbs lighter). We bought the duralite so that a woman of almost 60 with arthritis could lift hers alone. Two great boats! Enough cockpit room for a small grandchild or for our dog to join us. Only disadvantage is stabilizer in duralite requires a pad for kids or dog to be a passenger.

Best Uses:
Choppy water, Flat Waters, Marsh ponds, Open lakes, Waves
Describe Yourself:

My first kayak, and it was an excellent choice ! i have used other lower-level kayaks, but i have not compared it to others in its class.

Pungo120 is very stable, easy to paddle, and traks very well even against wind, in choppy water, or with lots of waves from the boats on the big lakes.

Easy to maneuver, forward or backward.

Detachable cockpit console with the small dry hatch is a nice feature. can be removed for more room. The foot pedals are easily adjustable while in the boat. Seat is comfortable - you can sit in it for 3 hrs straight before you need to stand up. Foot pedals and seat adjustments enable you to vary your sitting and leg positions to postpone sitting fatigue.

I flipped it to see how it behaves. the detachable console/dry hatch stayed in place ! the boat rested upside down, and stable. with life jacket on, it was easy to right the boat, and it had minimal water in it.

Durable, have made some rough put-ins and yet only minor scratches that barely show.

Great for exploring ponds and marshes, observing wildlife. i have the "Mango" color, which is a orange and yellow, along with an orange paddle blades, it shows up well on the water.

Easy to lift overhead, balance, drain water out, and place on the car roof. i transport hull-side up on factory roof rack with foam blocks and straps.

Overall i give it high marks across the board !
