Hard to fit Pungo 120

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The large NRS (size 7) cockpit cover is one of the few large enough to have a chance to cover the Pungo's cockpit opening.

The challenge is that the new Pugo's have an "organizer" that mounts around the lip in the front of the Pung's cockpit - covering the front lip - Its not the fault of the NRS cover, but it doesn't fit all the way around the cockpit opening's lip with the organizer in place. This means taking the organizer off to get the cover on - not a convenience.

hmm...not so much

Pros:
Store items in kayak
Cons:
Bungee ties untied-often, LOUD highway noise, Tight fit for Pungo 120
Describe Yourself:
Recreational
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My biggest complaint is that it added a significant amount of highway noise. I pulled over and removed one. I would have removed the other except that I had stored items inside (which is a plus for the cover).

I also had a very difficult time stretching the cover over my Pungo (120/Classic). Just as it would reach, it would either snap back or the bungee would come untied (which was difficult to make another good knot at first).

It did keep the rain out of my kayak that lies flat - although it pooled on the cover (so be careful as you take the boat off of the roof).

Does exactly what it is made for
By LMVerified Reviewer from Grafton, VT on 10/3/2006
Pros:
Adjustable, Breathable, Tight Seams
Best Uses:
Advanced Paddlers, Beginners, Cold Water, Hot Weather, Recreational Paddlers

I have two Pungo 120 Kayaks, covers for each. They are a good tight fit which works well to keep out the dust from the dirt roads that we transport over. We will be also using them as storage covers.
