It does just what it was designed for
By Colorado FunVerified Purchaser from Longmont, CO on 10/22/2006
Pros:
Compact, Compfy, light weight, Well made
Cons:
Low loft
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Hiking, Treking

This is the perfect just-in-case sleeping bag or for summer camping. This bag does not need a zipper, if you want one get a regular bag not an uber light weight one like this. If size and weight is not an issue for you then skip to the next model, but if you want small and light this if for you. Just got mine [...]and I love it. The stuff sack is smaller than my light jacket!

I had no problem getting in or out of the bag, almost makes you want to ask why any bag has a zipper. Very roomy once you get in it, and the hood works well. Used it on a wet and windy night with temp down to 35 in a bivy, I had on sweat pants and light weight fleece top and wool socks. The only thing that was cold on me was my face, and no bag can help that. Worked really well.

I got this bag for snow cave camping and as a just-in-case bag so if I decide to spend the night out I can. I would never take even my lightest down bag when I was not planning on staying out over night (mostly size issue), but with the propel it is no problem even in a hip pack. What a great product!

Survival and more is good.
By LighteryetVerified Reviewer from Exeter, California on 10/3/2006
Pros:
Adaptable, Comfortable light weight, Durable, Good Value, High Quality, Spacious
Best Uses:
'claustrophobia' sense, Artistic appreciation, Cooling Calif weather, Need for super-light pack, Sensitivity to materials, Un-expected breezes, Walking warm

I un-expectedly 'survived' 34, 25 and 15 degrees F sleeping temperatures with wind-chill in some nights. Yet, this bag was adaptable and roomy as I added warmth in bulkier polar fleece, etc. inside the bag. My toes became chilled at 25 and less. At trail's end, I pulled the bag on, with shod feet dangling outside the special foot zipper and slept exhausted and nauseated, 50's F temperatures. So atired, I later walked into warmth into the car where someone easily pulled off the comfortable cacoon when sensible. This is a most attractive and functional bag beyond its usual advertized expectations. There was no clamminess nor dis-comfort (except cold toes, feet a couple of coldest nights). I backpacked super-uber-light on two trips, each 3 and 4 days in California's Sierra Nevada, mid- and late- September, 2006, and 8000 to over 10,000 feet elevation, no rain, by creek and lake. This bag is most versatile, adaptable, comfortable.

Needs a zipper
By Stevep33Verified Reviewer from Brookline, MA on 10/2/2006
Pros:
Durable, Good Value
Cons:
needs a zip

Bag is lightweight and packable, but it's difficult to get in and out of without a zipper.
