I have only the used the sleeping bag once, on a car-camping trip in Maine, in the summer. It did everything it was supposed to - kept me warm enough, dry, and it was very light and easy to pack down. i am curious about how well it will hold up in Alaska, where I am going in a month, but I must give it HIGH marks for its performance thus far. Also, as a 5 foot female, i appreciated that its not super long or bulky - it does fit a woman's frame much better.

I had never even heard of the Kelty brand before planning my backpacking trip. As a matter of fact, this is my first backpacking trip as well. I had a budget for my supplies, the rest was spending money for Europe. The Kelty Light Year was a great choice because it was an inexpensive, but still down, sleeping bag. 25 degrees was about all I would need for camping through Mid to Southern Europe. The tent got wet in the rain a few times, but nothing leaked through the bag. It cinches up nice and tight at the top for extra coziness too.
