We own about a dozen of these tents, and use them in our summer camp program. They are durable, roomy, easy to set up, and perform incredibly well. I've owned lots of 6 person tents over the years, and these are the best. The price is a little high, but it is worth it!

This is the one of the best super base camp tents on the market. I have struggled trying to find a family tent that is the quality of my backpacking tent. This is it! Compared to equivalent REI or North Face, this is the best value on the market. Sets up in a couple for minutes, excellent design for space, venting and layout. I was worried that it was too tall in the wind, and maybe not strong enough w/ only 3 poles, but had it in 30mph gusts at the oregon coast with 4 guy lines and it didn't even budge.

I kinda wish they had a footprint for the vestibule, just to help minimize tracking in dirt, but have made due w/ a small tarp.

We took our two year old for his first camping trip in this tent. We had room for a queen air mattress, a porta crib and all our stuff. The screen porch was great for storage in the rain, or just staying out of the bugs. We were camping with three other families and in a heavy rain storm we were the only ones dry and warm. Awesome family, car camping tent!

Great tent

Pros:
Large area covered

Great tent but the one Issue I have with the EMS tents are it is made with the backpacker in mind not so much the car camper. I had the Nova 4 And returned it because it really was to small. Then I got this one and man it is the perfect tent when I camped for 4 days and It rained 2 days the screen porch area was perfect for storing the wet gear if your 5-2 110 lbs the Nova 4 is for you but If your a normal size man go for the Nova 6

Spacious room with a patio
By Patrick, Justin and Lars the dogVerified Purchaser from Newark, Delaware. on 12/2/2006
Pros:
Large area covered, Plastic window to world, Stand to dress, Total rain-fly coverage
Cons:
Tricky to setup at first
Best Uses:
Car Camping, Patio for cooking-storage

Large sleeping area with ability to stand and dress. Plenty of storage pockets and room in patio to store coolers or even cook on rainy days. Long poles a bit hard to thread though guideway but by the second set-up we were pros. Six people sleeping right next to each other maybe but two men and a dog have more than enough room to spread out. Excellent quality construction along with great material will make this our next tent that should last for another twenty years of four season camping.
