Footprint works like any other footprint. Standard fly only option is nice for ultra light trips.

Don't leave home without it.

The Big Agnes Footprint not only protects your tent from damage but it adds an extra level of waterproofing. With the footprint you can setup the tent in the “Fast Fly” configuration using just the fly and the foot print. This can save weight and is also perfect to sit out a thundershower trailside. I think it makes the tent easier to setup as well.

I carried this footprint on my AT thru-hike along with the Big Agnes Seedhouse 2. Their products are great! Out of all my equipment my tent performed the best day after day. The tent itself had the best room to weight ratio I could find.

I lost my original footprint in a hail and lightning storm in the White Mountains when it slipped out of my pack, I could not wait to replace it. Money well spent.
