I have used this camping over the past 5 years and love it! It takes all of 10 minutes to set up max and then you can sit back and watch your friends struggle with their tents! Very durable and overall great tent. The rain fly works wonders. I was stuck one night with pouring rain and didn't get a drop inside.

This was my first backpacking tent. I used it on several solo trips. It has good room for 1. The last time out my buddy forgot to load his tent into the car. We realized this 250 miles from home. He bunked with me and it was pretty close, but bearable.

The condensation was fairly heavy with two people even with warmer temps. When alone I hardly noticed any and it got down to about 25 fahrenheit.

The vestibule is good for a pair of boots. It would also fit your pack but then you'd have to crawl over it in the middle of the night to hit the privy. I kept my pack outside with a cover on it.

Handy pockets on the inside.

Overall, works good for 2 but great for one.

This was a great tent for me, I've taken it on multiple trips it has gone across the country 2 times (once in a car and once on a bike), I lived out of it in Alaska for a summer, and countless overnight trips up in the eastern mountains. I love the pole design of it, it's extremely simple, lightweight, and roomy for one person. Two people and a dog is a little cramped. The real only problem I had with it is that it couldn't stand up to a bear, which what tent really can? It was comfortable for me to live out of in Alaska and can compress well when put in a compression sack with a sleeping bag. Wonderful purchase would buy this product again.

I am a big hiker and find this tent to be very light, easy to use and not too bulky. It is very small to carry, but still feels roomy inside!

Tadpole Tent, '05
By Matt the Guide from Darien, CT on 11/27/2006
Pros:
Large area covered, Large vestibules, TONS OF ROOM
Cons:
Leaks in large storms
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Hiking

This is a great all around tent. I am a guide for a small girls camp a few hours north of toronto called Northway Lodge. I spend 20 out of 25 days out on trip. its very light and can be packed into a relatively small pack. It is a pain when it rains very hard because if you dont strap everything down tight enough it can leak and when i say everything i mean all the strings that are attached to the Fly. The floor leaks a little bit, even with the ground sheet. Other than that its a great tent, actually one other thing. If the place that you are camping in has a lot of bugs this tent is not for you. It is a little hard to get in and out of and ive had hundreds of mosqitos get trapped inside the Fly. If i had to pick another tent it would be this years new model. The Pros definatly out weight the small cons in this tent.

Eastern Mountain Sports Response:Some tents especially after a lot of use require an application of seam sealer. It requires some effort on your part but would keep the floor seams from leaking as well as any seam on the rainfly. Seam sealer itself is inexpensive and well worth the trouble.
