I have a Timbuktu bag that didn't come with any sort of shoulder padding. It was really hurting my shoulder especially when I was carrying heavy loads. This shoulder pad has helped a lot.

Takes the edge off

I added this strap pad to the small Timbuk2 bag that I use for commuting back and forth to work and for biking around town. I have some back problems that tend to make messenger bags uncomfortable for me in general, and I was not expecting this strap pad to fix that.

However, what I was expecting and what it does do is make the strap a little more comfortable on your shoulder--that padding prevents the strap from digging into your skin if, for example, you're just wearing a tank top or something.

It's pretty stiff when you get it, but breaks in well. I do have a little bit of trouble getting it positioned exactly where I want it when I cinch up the bag to get on my bike, etc, but I'm guessing that will improve with practice.

Overall, if you use your Timbuk2 bag pretty frequently, I'd say it's worth it to spend a few extra dollars for this accessory.

I got this recently for my Classic Messenger Timbuk2 bag, and it makes it so much easier on the shoulder. I couldn't imagine using the bag without it - it's unfortunate the bags don't come stock with these.

Timbuk2 pads proved to be the perfect solution for my cello case backpack straps. Plenty long, well-made and durable, comfortable, protective, and a fraction of the cost of padded cello backstraps.

does what it says it will, Durable, Slim
Cons:
needs an extension pad
Best Uses:
Everyday Use
Bottom Line:

It's a simple product that does what it says and it's simple to use. What more could a guy ask for--oh, and it's reasonably priced, that's what.

I'd recommend it to anyone. I would like a small change in the product for my particular usage, but it's not your fault in making it, it's just one of those things.

Pros:
Durable, Handsome
Cons:
Slips
Best Uses:

It does slip a little, but a little duct tape goes a long way. It's practically universal, works on almost any strap. The padding felt cheap, but it does its job.

... and it was the same level of great. I've owned many Timbuk2 bags over the last 10 years, and after awhile, my shoulder always gets a little raw... I end up ordering one of these for every bag, and the newest was no exception. Great quality, rugged. If you buy this, you may notice that the thread starts to look like it's falling apart. It will. But only a very little and then it magically stops and keeps lasting. I've never had one go very far, but it will start to show a little wear when it's had some.

Does the job
By AngieVerified Reviewer from NY on 11/2/2006
Pros:
Comfy, Durable, Handsome
Cons:
Slides Easily
Best Uses:
Everyday Use

I really like the product with the exception that it slides around on the strap and on your shoulder. Liked the idea of the rubber pad but didn't want black. Overall, very comfortable.

Slides too easily along strap
By RLVerified Reviewer from East Lansing, MI on 11/2/2006
Pros:
nice padding
Cons:
slides off shoulder

Strap Pad has great cushion, but slides along strap causing constant adjustment and does not stay on shoulder well.
