Fits everything that I need - laptop, notebooks, wallet, even SLR camera. Has pockets for iPod (which doesn't quite fit mine but would accommodate a nano or smaller iPod well), pencils, keys. It's slightly bulky for a smaller person like myself but that doesn't bother me too much. Overall a great quality bag that can store just about anything.

For the last 15 years (since graduating as an undergrad) I have been trying to find a stylish bag that can hold all of my supplies. Bags would break, rip, or lose their contents and it would drive me nuts. This bag actually carries my laptop, lunch, two water bottles, snacks, newspapers, and work documents (I am a business analyst for Bear Stearns/JP Morgan Chase in NYC). Because of the compact organization of all of the compartments and the combination velcro/snap-closure, the bag is remarkably light and my gear is secure with no worries about my losing a water bottle on 5th Ave (like I did with my last bag a few days before ordering this one) or losing my [$]pair of eyeglasses (like I did with the bag before that). I don't need the added concern of losing supplies when I wear by back slung over my shoulder. I have enough to worry about. Nice bag!

I bought this bag for my husband and he loves it. It doesn't come with a padded strap which is a con but we just bought one off of [...]. The bag is big enough to hold an IBM Thinkpad (both T40 and T60) plus additional items. The back is padded and looks like another laptop might fit in the back but we haven't tried that yet. The orange is a bit darker than pictured but he likes it.

This is a great bag - I use it to carry my laptop, books, other teaching materials. I travel around the district and it's easy to carry - even when full. I would recommend getting the padded strap, I don't know why it isn't already included. This is a good size and looks good too. Perfect for work.

Daily Work Bag
By MB from Bay Area on 12/12/2006
Pros:
Attractive, Enough Compartments, Good Strap Length, High Quality, Protects Laptop Well, Weather Resistant
Cons:
Strap not the best
Best Uses:
Biking, Everyday, Work

This bag is a bit on the expensive side. That said, it is worth every penny. The material is thick and coated with rubber-like material on the underside (making it water resistant). The bottom of the bag is also coated with a rubber feeling material for added durability and protection when setting the bag down. Inside there is a padded sleeve that fits my 15 inch Dell perfectly. The bag is very well laid out (with the commuter in mind) and seems to have a pocket or compartment for most of my everyday essentials (cell phone, iPod, files, pens, etc). My only gripe is with the plastic strap adjusters, which work well, but sometimes find their way to the top of my shoulder causing a little discomfort... Not a huge deal though. Overall, I feel the bag is bombproof. I went with boring black but it comes in an array of colors so take your pick.

Awesome bag, very durable, holds 15" Macbook Pro perfectly, holds about 2 text books and 3 paper notebooks plus comp. Could be a little larger

Mixed review
By Norske1962Verified Purchaser from Weymouth, MA on 10/26/2006
Pros:
Durable, Well Constructed
Cons:
Poor Ergonomics

[...] I found the bag to be to small for my needs. I also found the bag to be rigid with the padded back and bottom. I have since purchased a medium messenger from Timbuk2 with a padded laptop sleeve. I have much more room, overniter and laptop all in one bag. Also, if you looking to customize your colors Timbuk2 now offers that on their website.

Commute Messenger Bag Timbuk2
By John the NY'erVerified Reviewer from NY on 10/5/2006
Pros:
Durable, Lots of pockets, Well Constructed
Cons:
Smallish
Best Uses:
Commuting

Good bag, though it could use a couple of improvements. 1)water bottle side pockets are a bit small and low. 2) Wish the main compartment was just a little bigger to fit my gym stuff. Lots of interior pockets makes it convenient.

no good
By madjakVerified Reviewer from new england on 10/5/2006
Pros:
Durable, Well Constructed
Cons:
Heavy, Poor Ergonomics
Best Uses:
Work

Much to stiff and bulky of a bag. Very constricting and doesn't feel right around the body most likely because of the extra super-stiff padding on the bottom for the laptop. I would get the non-laptop version instead and just get a laptop sleeve. Its awkward to carry and just doesn't look at slick (because of its rigidity) as other laptop carriers.
