No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I ordered it to use as a gym bag. Thought it would be bigger but it can easily hold my clothing, sneakers and small accessories. Material seems pretty durable and has held up to just throwing it around. If you are looking for a day trip bag, this will work well.

This bag is very well-designed and is constructed with great, sturdy materials (zippers, handles, etc.)! I was surprised as to the heavy-duty nature of the bag. I was also pleasantly surprised withe the capacity of the side pockets!
