Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The bag is the bag I would have designed if I had the time or experience to do that sort of thing. It's the perfect size--holds wallet, camera, misc. stuff, a book, water bottle, snacks, cellphone--all without feeling bulky or over-stuffed. It's easy to clean, is comfortable either over-the-shoulder or bandolier-style, and ideal for travel. I should probably order a few more, just in case it, like most perfect things, one day disappears!

This bag is perfect. It is light weight, and durable. It's only drawback is that it does not have a comfort strap. The color (Twilight) is a great color. I love all the pockets, and especially two side pockets for water bottles.

good organizer panel

this is a great bag. The organizer panel holds many things in their precise places. The 2 waterbottle pockets hold a water bottle or umbrella out of sight and securely so it doesn't fall out or get in the way. The main compartment is on the small side, and quickly became a black hole, but for me, most of what I need to retreive regularly is in the organizer panel, then the black hole is not so bad. As with any purse, self-discipline and regular excavations are the key. (not that I've learned that yet). I like the smooth shape of it and the hidden water bottles, it's not too casual for carrying around at work.

I am an organization freak and I need my hands free for activities with my twins and dog. The quantity and distribution of the pockets make it a great bag, especially the front panel organizer. The two side pockets make it handy for sunglasses & extras and that design helps the bag lay flat against the body when the strap is worn across the shoulders. You can carry a lot of stuff in the bag without it feeling bulky. My basic black one is terrific but I would like to see the colors have a different / complimentary color on the strap other than black.

I bought this bag for an overseas trip. It worked out pretty well until it rained. Didn't seem that waterproof. I had to set it on the floor in a restraunt in Dublin and when I got back to our hotel I noticed a big white streak that encompassed the entire side of the bag. That's another thing--it doesn't want to "stand up" as most bags do. Someone thought it may be bleach from the floor cleaner? Anyway--next time I'll stick to a smooth surface--not this canvas stuff that also collects lint and hair.

This bag has a lot of compartments for organizing your stuff -- two side compartments for a bottle of water and glasses, inside spots for a phone, and a place for ID if you don't want to carry a wallet. It is lightweight on its own (but maybe not after you stuff it as I do). Cross shoulder strap is good for security (adjustable length).

I work a couple of jobs...and constantly need LOTS OF SPACE for "things". This bag goes to school and then follows me while visiting patients who are homebound...versatile, spaceous... can't say enough about it! In addition, I have the smaller one, too. Great for summer travel abroad...holds everything necessary including a special place for your passport.

I like this bag for looks, but not for function. Though it hold a lot, the strap is not very comfortable, and it doesn't sit well on your shoulder. I also travel everywhere with my dog... and his hair sticks all over it. It's like a magnet. Very bizarre, but the worst part about it for me.

Love this bag - lots of room, well designed for ease of use. One negative is the strap - I wear this slung across my chest and the strap really digs into my neck!

The strap only becomes uncomfortable when the bag is completely filled. I usually carry a hard cover book and a couple of containers filled with fruit and an umbrella (and the kind of stuff any girl carries in her purse).

I write books for children and am on the road a lot doing book signings and school visits. My sister in New Hampshire gave a blue Donner Bag to me as a present. I just bought a black one. Now my "practical travel" wardrobe is complete. I can carry notepads in the large section and can grab pens for signings from the front pocket in a flash. I use the side pockets for my cell and camera. Perfect.

Cons:

Very well made and durable. Great place to put 2 water bottles or other items. Nice comparments for cash, credit cards, etc. Inside compartment is good, but could be just a bit bigger. Outside sleeve is a handy place to store soemthing like a map that you need to access easily. A nice all purpose bag.

My new favorite bag
By KTVerified Reviewer from Ithaca, NY on 11/2/2006
Pros:
Durable, Well Constructed
Best Uses:
Around town, Outdoors

Overall, this is an excellent bag. I've used it for more than a month and lug around everything from wallet, keys, cell phone, to books and magazines. The side pockets are great for a waterbottle and an umbrella. The shoulder strap is adjustable and can be very long. My only complaint is that when the bag is worn across the body, the strap tends to move toward the neck. If you just wear it over the shoulder, it slides off pretty easily. Otherwise, this is an excellent bag, big roomy main compartment and enough other extra pockets without overdoing it. I'd definitely recommend it.

Great bag!
By DDVerified Reviewer from Myrtle Beach, SC on 10/12/2006
Pros:
Durable, Great adj strap design, Great outside pockets, Holds 20 oz water bottle, Lightweight, Phone-pda-camera-glasses, Well Constructed
Cons:
Crd hlder not convenient
Best Uses:
Vacation travel

Used this on trip to Grand Canyon area tours and Las Vegas. Side outer pockets easily fit up to 20 oz. water bottle on one side and large eyeglass case on other. Side pockets designed to fold closed when not in use. Inside storage easily fit cell phone, PDA, camera, and many other tems. Tickets in outside pocket. Felt comfortable and stylish in all situations. Took along a small evening bag when dress up necessary. The quality is excellent and the color is beautiful.

Just what I needed
By S.M.Verified Reviewer from NYC on 9/28/2006
Pros:
Durable, Well Constructed
Cons:
Heavy

I needed a good sized day bag and found that this one met and exceeded all of my expectations. It has a pocket for everything and was designed with the traveler in mind with the easy access flap pocket. It even has holders for my water bottle and umbrella. It got a little heavy, but that's only because I loaded it up with all of my books and incidentals...it was definitely sturdy!
