Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The watch is excellent for work (veterinary technician)and play. The analog face is easy to read and the functions are mostly intuitive. Although its a drawback that I can't change out the bad (not crazy about the polyurethane), the watch is impressively water resistant and easy to keep clean.
