The rear heel attachment was not wide enough to accomodate size 13 boot heel and pinched soles. Great bite and easy adjustment. Great buy for the price.

Very good general Eastern winter mountain use, gets around well on trails that ice up or in deep snow, not bad on bare ground / not that hard to clean. I wouldn't try it for serious ice climbing

I have just tried these crampons and they work well on alpine ice and packed snow and are easy to carry (a large enough bag and antibotts are included). The strapping system works very well, both to tighten and to release. Good quality Italian workmanship. Especially suited for hiking boots with flexible soles, the elastic steel linking bar makes a significant difference when walking, compared with a rigid one. (01/08)

These were the best buy! I bought them last year and did lots of winter hikes, Greens & Daks, and these were like hiking with all wheel drive with chains. Easy to strap on, even on the trail. You can do it one handed too. I've even bought another pair as a loaner.

These crampons work on a narrow heeled boot best. The spring for the adjustment pin is more difficult to use than comparable models. Most importantly, be prepared to dry these off as soon as you're off the trail. After the first use, a 5 hour hike & a 1 hour drive, there was already small patches of rust on the adjustment spring (not a place where I would expect to have an issue). If you don't mind oiling these up right after your hike & being diligent about maintenance, they're not a bad deal. I would only recommend these to a light- to mid-duty winter day hiker.

Still can't believe they are 12 point steel crampons that come with Vibram antibot plates and carry bags for $70 bucks!
I bought 2 pairs -- a second color would be nice for my wife's pair.

I bought these for a hiking trip to the Adirondacks in early January. Slow start to winter up there, but lots of ice. These crampons performed excellent! I wore them all day for a four peak hike. I wear a size 13 boot and had no problems with fit, like the other reviewer. For the price these are a must have. They come with the Antibots and a carry bag that other similar priced crampons don't have.
I would by these crampons again.

THe instructions aren't the clearest (and that from someone with two Master's degrees and a PhD..: )
However, once I figured out how to use, and got them adjusted right (took one climb to do it) I've never enjoyed the winter so much. If you hike, buy these!

I used these on a 4 peak hike in the Adirondacks. This was my first time using crampons and I couldn't have asked for a better deal. They were easy to use, peformed amazingly and I just feel why spend the extra $ when you could get these. Most crampons in this price range don't come with the Anitbot plates or a carry bag, which came with these. As far as the fit, I disagree with the other reviewer. They fit my boots just fine, and I wear a size 13! The worked great with my regular leather hiking boots and also with my winter hikers, North Face Chilkats, which are quite bulky.
Don't pass up this deal, can't wait to use them again!
Narrow heel with constricting strap post

Sizing:

Pros:
Easy To Put On And Adjust, Great Grip, Lightweight
Cons:
Non adjustable heel posts

The heel p[late is too narrow for regular womens winter boots. Posts had to be bent with difficulty to accomodate boot. probably only meant for narrow heel boots such as X country boots.
