Great for casual wear and fresh water activities requiring a waterproof sandal with toe protection. Cushionning and support is excellent, but not really sturdy enough for hiking on uneven ground...great for flat ground. Best for those with flat arch or medium arch...arch not quite high enough for those with a higher arch but it may suffice. Great for those with wider feet, especially in the mid-foot area. See Keen sight for washing/care instructions...washing with no bleach and lesser detergent to avoid fading of leather. Highly recommend.

The smallest Men's size was 8, and I could use a smaller right size shoe. Because the right shoe is about a 1/2 size too big, there is a bothersome bump at the front of the shoe. Otherwise these sandals are exactly what I was looking for.

I had previous purchased a pair of these with the nylon webbing and they're great for wet conditions. I wanted a pair in leather for casual settings. I think these are great shoes!

I bought a pair of Keen's Newport sandals to wear on a two-week trip to Italy last summer. They were so comfortable and so versatile that my other footwear stayed in the suitcase the entire time! From walking all over Venice, Florence, and Rome to hiking the hilly trails of the Cinque Terre, these sandals were comfortable all day long - and nice enough to wear out to dinner in the evening. The rubber toe provided great protection in crowded museums and on rocky terrain.
I now own two pairs: one that I keep looking clean for travel, work (including a bike commute on roughly paved trails), and casual wear; the other I treat mecilessly - walking the dog in the mud and rain, heavy gardening work, and trail hiking.
Since I tend to overpronate I typically wear orthotic inserts in my shoes. Obviously, this is not an option with sandals. I have been pleasantly surprised by the support of these Keen Newports, evident in the even wear of the heels.
The neoprene lining can feel warm at times, but this has not been a problem for me in hot weather - and it actually keeps my feet comfortable in cooler weather, even when walking through dew-soaked grass and getting thoroughly wet.
I hope Keen never stops making these superlative sandals!

the lacing system is very handy and user friendly, I love not worrying about my toes kicking things, the only detractor so far is that you must take the sandle off to get small rocks out (rather than just shaking your foot) but I will trade that for safe toes

These shoes felt great right out of the box. No breaking in needed. My only complaint is that the leather treatment gives them a funny smell, like very strong vanilla. Many people would not find this unpleasant, but I have gotten numerous comments from people.

I can wear these babies just about anywhere other than real dressy occasions. They breathe and provide support, too.
I wear these shoes year-round because they are so comfortable. The strap design is wonderfully flexible. Even though my left and right foot are different sizes, these shoes fit comfortable. I can even wear socks in the winter.
They come with built-in anti-odor treatment, and they can also be washed easily. The leather is designed to hold up well even when wet, so they are great for a wide range of activities and weather conditions.
They are very comfortable, rugged. Use them for doing lawn work, can jump in the pool with them, or tailgating at the boston college football games. They will not be destroyed when you throw them in the washer. You can beat the living daylights out of them and they still look great.

Sometimes you pay a premium to to get premium quality. This is the case with these shoes. I am a discount/outlet/sale shoppper. I have an affinity for the top brands, but at clearance prices. These shoes are worth full price and a value at that price. They are rugged, long wearing, and keep an excellent fit throughout their life. This is not my first pair or will it be my last.

Sometimes the toe guard makes your feet sweat. Otherwise, it's an excellent product!

Purchased as a gift for my husband. Bison is his second pair, first pair are the water (H2) style. He loves them. Fits well. Best part of the sandal is the adjustable elastic cord across the top, which makes them fit well for narrow feet, wider feet, and putting them on or taking them off. Toe protection is great for outdoor activities or chores. The item description says they can be used for hiking...that would depend on the kind of hiking...not a lot of support for long treks, in our opinion. These are a great sandal...if you've never tried them, DO, you'll want a closet full!!!

Great for everyday use and running around town, in cooler weather with socks, in warm weather barefooted. Outside at the decks having a drink, to the beach, lake or park, running errands, and working around the house, they are comfortable and durable. This is my second pair, better, more supportive and formal than an open-toed sandal, cooler and more comfortable than a sneaker. a good sneaker alternative.

Took a few days to get used to the little transverse hump that separates the toes from the foot. Now I don't even know it's there. Wondering if that little hump is really needed.
