I have bought those shoes a year ago on September at your store on Broadway. They are very comfortable, have good traction but there are three things that makes them bed shoes.
First, stitches in toe area are loose I have hole in there between two layers of material.
Second, BOA lace in right shoe broke.
Third, Right shoe is not water proof over big toe.

If it weren't for the BOA system I wouldn't have gave these hiking shoes just one star. Sure it saves time with having to tie your shoelaces but here's the catch...what do you do once the BOA system fails/breaks? With mine the cable(laces) snapped rendering the shoe useless now. I thought it was my fault possibly over tightning them but upon closer inspection it was that the cable somehow was getting pinched in the BOA winding system. Now if conventional laces snapped they'd be easy to replace and you're ready to go...not with this. Okay, besides the BOA system the shoe itself is great. It's comfortable, durable, waterproof and fairly light.
Eastern Mountain Sports Response:Sorry to hear your laces were short lived. This is the exception in general as the Boa Lace system is generally stronger and far more durable than traditional laces. Spare laces can be purchased...and Boa offers this information on there website. The treads wore out quickly, especially the sharp corners. Actually, they would just tear off a little bit, but stay connected to the shoe enough so that grass, leaves and twigs had enough space to get lodged in there and have to be pulled out by hand all the time. Also, the lacing system was pretty gimmicky and not all that useful. It kept getting caught on stairs or branches or anything and would unlock itself and then would have to be engaged again. Then it ended up just breaking off, so the shoes are useless. Kind of a pain in the butt to do over and over again. I would rather just stick to regularly lacing shoes. I will be returning this pair.

No more laces pulling loose in the brush. Very easy on-off so I can work out in the woods and pop them on and off with slightly more difficulty than moccasins. Still my first day but very comfortable after several hours of wear without break in

I wear this boot almost every day and absolutely when i'm hiking the AT in NH.
The Boa lacing system works great and is reliable.I've put about 70 miles on the trail with these boots and I will definetly go get a second pair to switch into. The boot breathes really well and stays dry at the same time, sures saves from carrying all those extra socks in the pack.
