Used this product during a 2-day winter mountaineering trip up Algonquin and Iroquis in the Adirondacks. Luckily I wore them over my gortex pants otherwise my calves would have been drenched from sweat. They fit well on my legs even when breaking trail through 18 inches of snow. Good product for the price.
My first trip was an 8 mile hike in the WMNF in NH. Temps were -8 up to 20 degrees in 4 hours. Good gaiters, kept snow/mud/ice out of my socks. On the way down the mountain I was jogging/running a bit and found the tops to fall down a bit, even when snugged up on the cord. They really don't breath well at all, the sweat really builds up.
Make sure to try them on and fit them well.
I wear size 13's and due to their running big exchanged my XL's for L's.

I have always been impressed with EMS gear. I was extremely disappointed in these gaiters. They fit too big and kept sliding down my calf regardless of how tight I pulled the top. I have pretty large calves and purchased gaiters a full size smaller than I usually wear-they still did not fit. A smaller size would have been too small. They seemed to fit OK in the store but on the trail they simply could not stay up while walking. In addition, the clip would not stay attached to my laces. I could not get them to fit top or bottom. As a result, the mud and water came over the top and up from underneath. It seems to me that it might be a design problem. They might be OK in really dry conditions to keep brush off (although you'd probably need to keep pulling them up). Very disappointing, I hope EMS fixes the flaws in these gaiters.

I can only compare these to the EMS brand I bought 7 years ago. They fit perfect and held up great over time. I used to fit into EMS stuff all the time. I have been the same size for ten years. Lately I have been returning a lot of items to them.
well i was going to do a semester in the national outdoor leadership school, so i bought these gaiters. the day before we left for the trailhead i went to put them on my boots and they didnt fit my boots. basically make sure they fit before you buy them...never got to actually try them. p.s.-other kids on my course who had the same gaitors had the same problem.

I wore these in the Pemi Wilderness Area in NH, the place was still full of snow in early May. They worked just fine, I gave it 4 Stars instead of 5 because the top of the gaiters kept the sweat on the inside, the bottom half which had the breathable part worked great.

I'm a big guy with little calves, they just weren't a good fit, even though I was in full cold weather gear. They kept sliding down my legs and I eventually tore the grommet at the top from trying to tighten them enough to keep them up. They'd probably be great for medium - large lower legs.[...]
Did their job, bottom buckle a nice feature much easier than trying to tie. Only drawback is the velcro on the side instead of a zipper, going through thick brush got caught a couple of times and opened up.

I bought these to keep the snow out of my boots while snowshoeing. They do a good job. Attachment features make them very easy to put on and take off. Good value for the casual user like me.

Its ok , but needed a full zipper to keep it secured. Its only held in by velco, moving around it opens up and allows snow and debris to get in, not good. Its only good if your shoveling snow from the driveway. Thats why I purchased a full zippered gaiter. Thanks
Easy to put on, and never came off. Felt a little lose at the top (didn't cinch up all the way), but it never fell down, so it must have been tight enough.
