I got this fleece in the off season, so haven't really tried it out in cold teperatures. But so far using it on the cooler spring days it has been extremely warm and comfy.

This jacket is comfortable and extremely warm, but it does not totally protect from wind and rain by itself. I bought the Denali to zip into a NF Mountain Light Jacket for hiking and skiing trips in variable weather conditions. The two together are a versatile, lightweight combination. After four trips in three seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring), I do not have any complaints about durability.

The jacket just came in the mail today. Most of my comments are first impressions (I haven't been to the store to look at or try on the Denali). I got the jacket because of its stylish look and because I'm moving up north. The 300 weight fleece keeps me very toasty. It's Polartec fleece and has a great finish that seems non-pill. Size-wise, I'm 5'10" and of fit/thin build. I ordered small, and it fits very snug. Medium wouldn't have been a bad choice either - it'd add an inch to the sleeves. The bottom of my jacket sits below my belt line and rides up to the belt when I touch my toes. Still, it's a great fit and a lot warmer than I expected. [...]

Great jacket that's really worth all the money. I was a little hesitant to spend this much money, but when i saw last season's were discounted, I had to see what all the fuss was about. I was pleasantly surprised. It's very warm and cozy, perfect for just wearing around the house. Or even better, for all those freezing cold days here in the pacific northwest. Bought this jacket for my husband who loves it. My high school son borrowed it one time and loved it so much that I had to buy one for him. When my middle school daughter borrowed my son's jacket, I ended up purchasing one for her because she wanted one, too.

I agree with those who have complained about inadequate wind protection. I bought the Denali from an EMS store, then visited Niagara Falls -- it felt like I was wearing nothing on my arms and stomach area, which are not protected by the durable outer covering. The wind sailed through the coat like it was made of mesh -- and this was in February. I returned the jacket an hour later. The salesman even told me that the jacket is about 15 years out of date. Save your money and don't get suckered by that North Face label. Get the EMS Divergence fleece instead. Twice the protection half the price!
