Great boot for the price. They are a pretty stiff out of the box, but after about a month of a couple hours a day in ice and snow they are starting to break in. The traction has been great on the ice, sleet and snow I have been tracking through.

It was a perfect boot for the conditions I was in. I hike in the Adirondacks and these boots kept my feet dry after trekking for over 3 hours in the snow! My feet did get chilly after the hike, but it was in the single digits. I would not say that these boots will go to the extremes of -25 degrees. Wonderful comfort after I took out the stitched labels in the side of the boots.

Runs 1/2 size under but I take a size 12 and had to go to 13. The boot doesn't fit well around the ankle laced up all the way or half way. Also it feels very heavy.

I bought then for winter hiking. I needed boots to help keep my feet warm. For many years, I have had a problem keeping my hands and feet warm. My feet still got cold but I don't know if I should blame the boot or myself. They were very comfortable from the start. I did some breaking in for a couple of days but I'm not sure I needed to. I went up to the high peaks once since I got them. They were quite comfortable except toward the end of the hike. The right boot seemed to be rubbing against my ankle at times.

But I will have to say that it was better hiking in these boots than hiking with my three season boots.

The first day I had the boot I broke the shoe lace guides they have for lacing the upper boot. Seems a boot this well made would have an improved lacing guide. Especially since in the cold most people would snug the laces.

Love the quality I've expected from North Face. I was only disappointed with the width of the boot being a little tight. Hoping the width will work itself out. Wearing a light sock at the present but would like a heavier one for anticipated colder wear to be safe.

I love the support and warmth of these boots. The soles are stiff enough that I don't feel the snowshoe bindings grinding the balls of my feet, but flexible enough to be comfortable bare-booting and even driving my car.
Great stuff, I have no complaints with them.
