This is great for protecting the face and neck from the sun. This is my 3rd hat, the first lost it's shape after I washed it over 20 times (wore for 3 years). I like a stiffer brim because the wind will blow it in your face if it's not stiff. The 2nd hat I lost in Hawaii after 3 uses. This is the replacement. The styles keep changing from Northface, but the quality is great and I love the diff styles (one has hawaii print under the brim)
