Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have never used a sports bra that hooks in the back, as it reminded me too much of my regular bra - but I must say this style has worked well for me and it's nice to have something off my shoulder. The cross design is harder to get into, but I pick this bra more often as it seems to provide better support overall, and is comfy. It also shapes better so if I choose to wear it under my street clothes to save time changing before I work out, I look defined, not uni-boobed. The straps seemed a little short for me, but my experience is that bras stretch out.
