After the second wearing, I will be returning the liners as they are showing excessive wear (after 7 hours of use). The fingers have many pulls and pulled threads (one 2 inches long). The fabric catches and pulls if it happens to touch velcro or anything else that is rough, and there certainly is velcro on my winter hiking gear. By contrast, my old EMS liners, which are 5-6 years old (and used continuously), appear to be in better shape! The new liners are a real disappointment.

frayed really easily when doing simple things, and the logo came off on the first day of usage. I used them with some EMS summit mitts and over all they got the job done, but when they got wet, it was hard to dry them off quickly

In general I like the gloves, but I've purchased pairs in the past that fit better for some reason. Again, I'm not sure why, but the most recent pair I bought didn't fit my hands well, in particular between the fingers there is an uncomfortable tightness. Still a fine product, and it could just be my hands. Are y'all stitching them differently than in the past or something?
Eastern Mountain Sports Response:Huh...sounds like a defective pair of gloves to us. Please call us in customer service @ 888.463.6367, check out our website www.ems.com, or visit one of our EMS Retail locations if we can assist you in any way.

I bought the gloves for my daughter who needed them for her cold-weather runs. She says they are great.

I use these gloves under other mittens/gloves, so when dealing with details needing fingers in cold weather I don't totally freeze up. My layers of clothing, including boots and gloves, include valcro, and in two wearings these mitts have become snagged and balled, unattractive and close-to-unusable.
Good Product, a little hard to size

I didn't get to take this product on my last trip because I ordered the wrong size. I think the sizing for this glove is a little confusing. It was suggested I order a medium, even though they are listed as men's gloves and since I am female I thought they might be big. When I received them, they did seem a little big. More importantly, the wrists are the same material as the glove (no extra stretch or elastic). My size in women's gloves is a small, but I have really small wrists. I ordered the extra small in exchange, but I am not sure they are not too small, although the wrists fit. I am considering whether I should exchange them again or not. They look very nice otherwise. I guess my comment would be to be aware there is no extra stretch fabric or elastic at the wrists. Maybe this won't matter to you, but if you are a long fingered small wrist type it could make a difference.

It's not a glove for extremely cold temperatures but it does a good job of keeping sweat away from the hands and it doesn't get bulky like cotton gloves.
Very thin yet still retains heat.

This is thin enough to wear under my usual size biking gloves. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it retained heat. The only downside is that the material snags easily so I only wear it as a liner.

I use these gloves alone in cold winter weather to operate the keyboard on survey grade GPS and other surveying equipment. They offer very good cold weather protection alone, or even better as a glove liner. I keep buying them, however, the people I work with think they need them more than I do......
