Great Hat, second one I've owned. The first one was slightly larger or stretched easier, which I preferred as I use it for commuting and business walking outdoors, rather than outdoor activities, but if you're looking for a lightweight do it all hat that can be worn alone or under something warmer you can't do better than this.

I have bought six of these hat liners over the past 3 years and will coninue to purchase in the future. The best use of the hat liner was during my tours in Iraq. The hat liner is thin enough to fit comfortably under the kevlar helmet, and designed well enough to provide plenty of warmth. The night shifts in Iraq can be very cold, but with the hat liner i was never sick and my ears were never exposed. This hat will always remain in my closet and wardrobe.

Stays light, warm, and breathable even when soaked in sweat. Not too hot while running. Long enough to cover ears and back of neck if needed.

Great for hiking and any other activity when you are moderately top heavily active. It gets a layer of protection over your ears without you sweating like crazy. I use this for winter hiking/camping/climbing in the cooler temps. Looks cool, light and takes up virtually no room in yopur pocket as a back up.

Great hat, it is actually warmer than I thought it would be. I kind of wish it wasn't as warm as it is. I use it for backcountry skiing and it definitly keeps me toasty. The material breathes really well, which keeps it from being unbearably warm while skinning. I like that it folds up at the bottom so you can wear it down low if you need to cover your ears more or fold it up higher if it is warm out. I owned an earlier version of this hat(lost the old one) and I liked the material better in the older version. It felt lower profile, not quite as warm, and stretchier. Over all I am very happy with my purchase, and would buy this hat again. It is still new, so I don't have any durability comments.

Great little hat, not as thin as some bearing the word "liner" in its description but it has worked perfectly in Colorado as well as in the Yukon Territories, Canada. Good on its own for many purposes, excellent as a liner under a sturdier hat in extreme cold.

The best multi-season cap

I love this hat, have been wearing this product for 12 years. This one that I just received seemed a little different from the ones I have had in the past. It is a lot longer in length, I used to be able to roll up the bottom and have it fit just above the ear. Maybe I ordered the wrong product. Also, if this came in a hunter saftey orange, I know many many outdoorsmen who would wear it.

Thanks.

This is an adequate liner, though the fit can be strange. I bought it for outdoor running during winter, and it often feels like it will slide off the ears. Hasn't happened, yet, of course, but it may take some getting used to.

not really a hat liner

Pros:
Breathable
Cons:
Not fashionable, Not Warm Enough

The fold up edge doesn't work well as a hat/helmet liner. It's too bulky. It is not attractive to wear alone.

Eastern Mountain Sports Response:Good comment on the fold up edge being bulky...but fashion is a very individual thing.

Greatest Hat in the Universe
By Estevo ParsonsVerified Purchaser from Owego, NY on 9/24/2006
Pros:
Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm
Best Uses:
Athletics, Commuting, Extreme Cold, Travel

This hat liner is great...first ill just say that it is more like a hat then a liner. i have two of these hats and i absolutly can not go anywhere without one in the winter. i go skiing, hiking and everything else in it. it may not seem warm but it keeps your years up againts your head to create exta warmth. This is an excellent product that i reccomend to everyone. one thing, while you are just beginning to wear it, your ears may hurt because it presses up against you head but you get used to it.
