This hat washes very easily. The fit remains the same. The only problem is that the dark ones come out of the wash looking really bad. The light/natural colored beanie comes out of the wash best as far as appearance is concerned.
My recommendation: Grab the light colored basic cuffed beanie.
Great Beanie for all weather.

Perfect in the summer for cool nights, or in the winter alone or under my husbands hardhat at work. We own more than one!
Air dry only, merino wool will shrink considerably.

Current model is longer, so it covers the ears better, and wool seems thicker for warmth. It would be great if they could add a layer of Gore-Tex to break the wind and make it rainproof.

I wear this under my leather ausie rain resistant hat and between them I stay warm, dry and comfy even while outdoors for hours tracking and enjoying nature and the adventures in trance.
