I wore this on the Inka Trail in Peru. It is great for hiking and not bulky at all. But if I had it to do over I would get a darker color because it got sooooo dirty. It did wash out nicely though and dried quickly.

The jacket was too small and the next size up was not available. I really loved the look and feel of this jacket. I think the quality is very good- would have liked to have been able to get it in the correct size. It runs a little small for size if you want to layer under it.

I wear this coat under my core shell and it does a pretty good job. I originally had the Heater Sync Jacket but found it way too bulky so I switched it for this one. That said, the saleswoman was right, it would get cold on the slopes - more so on the chair lift. I compensate by wearing a heavier inside layer.
Overall, good, well-made jacket.

Be aware of what EMS tells you, that this is a lightweight jacket! I ordered it basically by the photo online and the promise of being windproof. It may very well be windproof but it is so incredibly lightweight that it couldn't serve as a single outwear jacket for me for my activities of cross country skiing and snow blowing, etc. I can't imagine wearing this jacket without another layer for warmth, unless cold wasn't much of an issue. On the bright side, it is a pretty color and fit precisely. I took it back to the store and although I found the heavier, Divergence fleece jacket to be much more what I needed, I ended up going with a super heavy duty wind block fleece made by Mountain Hardware. [...] It is partially personal preference too. I love that I can face a cold winter without a bulky overcoat; but apparently I still enjoy some thickness to my fleece. The wind block element is superb but to have a wind block without the furry, cozy aspect of the fleece isn't my choice. To me this is a Florida fleece jacket. The fleece parts are flat not fluffy. The Divergence is more of an all around winter fleece. And the polar bear like mammoth fleece I got is like an Alaska version of fleece. The bottom line is I would recommend the Divergence jacket for most people and most situations and save this super-thin jacket for people who were going to almost always layer or were going to get very hot doing their activity.

I live near the Cooper River in NJ, and there's a terrific 4 mile loop around it that I walk several times a week. It gets pretty windy in the fall/winter, so buying this jacket was the end of my "it's too windy" excuse for braving the colder months!

And what's even better are the little details:
-- The underarm zipper vents allows me to cool down if I get sweaty without unzipping the front, exposing my chest.
-- The zippered arm pocket which is perfect for my iPod.
-- The little zippered pocket inside the hip pocket so I can secure my keys without closing the whole pocket.
-- The extra sleeve length that tucks easily into my gloves.

This is a GREAT jacket and I have been raving about ever since it arrived.

I love my WindStopper
By Annie O.Verified Reviewer from Middlebury, Vermont (Brrrrr) on 1/31/2007
Pros:
Comfortable, Great color, Lightweight, Rugged, Soft, Versatile, Warm
Best Uses:
Extreme Conditions, Good base layer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love this fleece. I have pretty much worn it non-stop since I got it. It provides great wind protection and I wear it under my 600 fill down jacket that is warm but leaky. This fleece has made a big difference in how many layers I wear, and when I snowboard I usually just wear a layer of Hot Chilly's, this fleece, and my shell.

I like the way it's tailored for ladies, and the sleeves have this awesome feature where they are tapered to fit the heel of your hand so you never have to pull your sleeves up to use your hands.

I would probably order one size up from what you usually wear because like I said, it is tailored pretty closely.

Versatile

Pros:
Lightweight, Weather Resistant
Cons:
Not very long
Bottom Line:

Sleeves are snug, not very long, love it though. It is perfect alone with something light underneath or under a boarding jacket to keep you warm while you ride!

Great but narrow sleeves/wrist
By TJOYGVerified Reviewer from Concord, NH on 1/22/2007
Pros:
Lightweight, Trim female fit
Cons:
Tight sleeveswrists

Worth buying, but if you don't like tight sleeves (wrist area only), then you might want to rethink the purchase. It is designed to slip in easy under another jacket, but was uncomforatble in the wrist area over winter sweaters.
Great fit; designed for a female shape. Looks as good as it works!

This is a terrific everyday jacket for me as I'm cheuffering kids to and from their activities and running in and out of buildings. It's very lightweight and comfortable but also warm enough that I don't freeze when I leave the car.

Flattering, warm yet breathes
By Liz the Runner-with-baby-and-dogVerified Reviewer from Louisville, KY on 1/4/2007
Pros:
Lightweight

I love this jacket. The sleeves are extra long, which is a bit awkward for casual wear, but everything else is perfect. When I first put it on, the front buckled a bit, but the drawstring took care of that in no time. Highly recommended!

Durable and sufficent
By Shoulda worked at [...]Verified Purchaser from the worlds footstool. on 9/28/2006
Pros:
Lightweight, Perfect Fit, Warm, Weather Resistant
Best Uses:
Around town, Casual Climbing, Fall jacket, Great top layer

I got this jacket right before I went to Europe in Sep and it has been perfect. It gets even a little too warm sometimes which I wasnt expecting but the under arm zippers take care of that real quick. I especially like the fact that there are two ways to zip it on each arm so you can breathe as much or as little as possible.
It has also proved itself well in some downpours. Mind you I wouldnt call it the best jacket for strictly rain but if you get caught in a storm your alright till you find shelter to put on your rain jacket.
I recommend. Good find.
